Sign up for the Week of Accompanied Prayer

St Laurence’s Church invites you to a Week of Accompanied Prayer

  • Do you find yourself wanting a deeper personal relationship with God?
  • Do you sometimes find it difficult to pray?
  • Would you like to know about different ways of praying?
  • Do you ever find yourself wondering about the connection between faith and life?

Who it it for?

It is for you – wherever “you’re at” – the only place to begin is where you are. It is for you whether you are a member of any church or with no particular affiliation. It is an open ecumenical event.

How does it happen?

We will meet together as a group at St Laurence Church, Milton Road, on Sunday 1 November at 2 pm. For the rest of the week – Monday to Friday – each of us will commit ourselves to half an hour each day on our own to pray/reflect. A Prayer Companion will be available to each person on a daily basis for up to half an hour. Their role is to listen and to reflect with that person on the focus and material for their next prayer time. On Saturday (8 Nov) we will meet together again as a group at 10:15 am for our Closing Session. This will be in the parish room at St Laurence Church, Milton Road.

What does it cost?

In order to help with travel costs for the week we are inviting participants to make an anonymous donation in the region of £20. Please don’t let this be a barrier as we know many people would find this amount unaffordable.

Interested?

Then please download the form and return it to the Parish Office at St Laurence’s. It is important to complete and return the information below by Monday 28 September. We need all of this information by this date to enable us to arrange the required number of prayer companions. As places will be limited slots will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
