Nick Moir

The Rev’d Nick Moir, Vicar

Nick was appointed to be the Vicar of St Andrew’s Chesterton in June 2007. He first came to Cambridge as an undergraduate at Caius in 1979. After graduation he worked at the Romsey Mill for two years before training for ordination at the Other Place. He returned to Cambridge in 1994 to be Chaplain of St John’s College, and in 1998 moved to Waterbeach.

Nick is married to Rosalind, a University Lecturer and Fellow of Robinson College. They have two children, Claire and Thomas.

Dorothy Peyton Jones

The Rev’d Dorothy Peyton Jones, Pastoral Co-ordinator

Dorothy Peyton Jones joined St Andrew’s Church in 2001 as an Honorary Priest. She trained and was ordained into the Episcopal Church of Scotland but, since moving to Cambridge in the late 1990s with her husband Simon and their three children, Dorothy has undertaken a number of roles within the Diocese of Ely.

In 2009, Dorothy became Co-ordinating Chaplain to the Cambridgeshire Police Service for 3 days a week, and St Andrew’s appointed her as pastoral co-ordinator (1 day per week)

The Rev’d Lorna Dazeley, Honorary Assistant Priest (retired)

Lorna Dazeley has been serving in the parish for thirty three years and as an ordained minister since 1984. She is married to Derek, and they have four children and eight grandchildren.

Lorna officially retired in December 2001 but remains happy to continue to serve in a limited way and share the pastoral care, particularly of the older people and the housebound.

The Rev’d Alasdair Coles

Alasdair is a non-stipendiary (i.e. unpaid!) curate at St Andrew’s, having been ordained deacon in the Summer of 2008. He is married to Olivia and has two children, Alex and Kana. He cycles slowly, enjoys baking bread and has a day job in medical research.
