Barn Dance (Saturday, 25th November)

You're warmly invited to a Barn Dance on Saturday 25th November. The dance begins at 7.30pm and will take place at Shirley Primary School (Upper Site). Fen Blow will be providing the music, and there will be refreshments available.

Tickets can be bought in advance from Pam Lumsden (01223 350550), or will be available on the door at £7.00 for adults and £3.50 for children. Everyone is welcome!

Parish Profile available

As part of the interregnum process we've recently produced a Parish Profile. The profile gives an overview of the parish, congregation and outlook of St Andrew's Church, as well as detailing many of the church groups and activities.

Details concerning application for the position of incumbent of St Andrew's Chesterton, can be found via the Church Times advertisement.

Stewardship campaign proves successful

The autumn Stewardship campaign of "Time and Talents" has proved very successful with a number of new volunteers across many aspects of church life. This has been extremely encouraging, especially during the interregnum and it is hoped everyone who volunteered will feel this extra commitment of time to be worthwhile. The Ministry Team, Wardens and Pastoral Group are very grateful to all concerned.

However, this doesn't mean opportunities are now closed for new service. Anyone interested in offering their time should, initially, speak to Dorothy Peyton Jones, Jan Payne or to Pam Lumsden (ALM Minister) about this.

Remembrance Sunday (Sunday, 12th November)

The annual Act of Remembrance will take place at the War Memorial (outside St Andrew's Church) at 11.00 am on Sunday, 12th November 2006. A wreath will be laid and two minutes silence observed. This will follow on from the usual 10.00 am Eucharist service in church.

Anyone is welcome to attend the War Memorial at this time whether, or not, they have been to the church service.
