Useful Links

The Internet is like a big city. You can find anything you are looking for, and, if you are not careful, quite a number of things you weren't.

Here are some of the websites we recommend:

St Andrew's Hall
The website of our local hall, which hosts many church and community events.

The Diocese of Ely
The Diocesan website includes news and events from across the diocese, and features many other useful resources.

Vercelli
We've been honoured to recently restore links with the city of Vercelli, with which we have ancient links.

Religious Broadcasting
The Diocese maintains a fascinating list of the week's religious viewing and listening.

The Archbishop of Canterbury's website
Links to a selection of his writings, and press releases.

Chesterton History
A short history of Chesterton extracted from "A History of the County of Cambridge and the Isle of Ely: Volume 9"

Sacred Space
A prayer site, updated every day. The site leads you through some prayers and a daily bible reading. An excellent way to spend 10 minutes at your computer.

Ship of Fools
The Magazine of Christian Unrest. This is a witty and intelligent look at Christian life. Includes the hilarious "Gadgets for God" page – altogether a great help in preventing ourselves from taking ourselves too seriously.

Jesus Encounters
A good website for searching and finding out more about the Christian faith.

Choral Evensong
Every evening this ancient service is sung beautifully in chapels and cathedrals around the country. You can hear it at any time on the Radio 3 website. Click on "choral".

The Tablet
An excellent source of news about the Church around the world. This Roman Catholic magazine also provides useful onward links to other interesting sites.

Free Software

Simon Peyton Jones, a member of our congregation, has produced some useful free software for keeping a congregational database, and tracking attendance statistics. Feel free to download them.
