‘Cherish Your Churchyard’ Day

St Andrew’s churchyard is full of history, with many ancient gravestones as well as war graves from both World Wars. It is also full of natural life, a haven for wildlife and rare plant species. We are seeking new volunteers to help us look after this special place. Please come and join our churchyard working party on Saturday, 9th June, between 10.00a.m. and 4.00p.m. to mark ‘Cherishing Churchyards’ week. All ages are welcome and refreshments and lunch will be provided. There will be a chance to hear about the history of the churchyard, take part in some essential tasks and also learn about ongoing volunteering opportunities.
Join us for the whole event, or part of the day – it will be good to see you, and we will be glad of your help for as little or as long as you can manage.
Please bring gardening gloves and secateurs if you have them, and wear stout footwear.
